We are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for The 2nd International Nursing Leadership Conference, Accra Ghana, themed “Expanded Scope of Discourse of Health and Healthcare Promotion in the Context of the Sustainable Development Goals” The conference will be held from Wednesday, April 10th – Friday, April 12th, 2019 at The University of Ghana, Accra.
Capacity building for enhanced health promotion practices, enhanced healthcare provision and enhanced healthcare access for the achievement of Sustainable development Goals. ‘All for Health, Health for All’.
The Objectives of the conference are:
- To share experiences among stakeholders on activities and practices geared towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
- To dialogue, discuss and document educational demands and practices for health promotion, enhanced healthcare provision and enhanced access for the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
To identify strategies for promoting health and healthcare in the context of Sustainable Development Goals.
To highlight health practice innovations, technology and models focusing on achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
To examine the practice implications of achieving Sustainable Development Goals on health and healthcare professionals, from an international perspective.
To identify and describe contextual issues influencing the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals in Africa.
To provide a forum for dialogue around the multifactorial determinants of promoting healthcare facing health professionals worldwide, and particularly in Africa.

As reflected in the conference theme, “Expanded Scope of Discourse of Health and Healthcare Promotion in the Context of Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals,” the conference will provide an opportunity to have extended discussions and discourse on the role of health and health care promotion in the context of Sustainable Development Goals. This conference creates a platform to network, learn and exchange collaborations among health professionals and interdisciplinary researchers, clinicians, educators, non-governmental organizations and policy makers. Attendees will have ample opportunities to learn about recent advances in achieving Sustainable Development Goals from different sectors; the essential role of health and healthcare promotion; and will share their work and ideas with others who are committed to meeting the health targets of Sustainable Development Goals.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND PRESENTATIONS:
Presentations that demonstrate state of the science, research-related, educative, and evidence-based practice projects or papers that address the promotion of health and healthcare in the context of Sustainable Development Goals are invited. Presenters are expected to provide information, strategies, and/or tools relevant to healthcare professionals, educators, clinicians, and/or policy makers to advance their work.
Abstracts must be submitted in English and online.
Abstracts must be:
- On a well-highlighted topic of your choice, relating to the conference theme.
- APA Referencing style.
- Must show full references, but with not more than 2 cited references at the bottom of the abstract
- Detailed with purpose, method, findings, and conclusion if a scientific paper.
- Research-backed, engaging and evidence-based abstracts are encouraged.
- Limited to 500 words. (Note: Author and institution information can be included in the abstract.)
EVALUATION CRITERIA:Abstracts will be reviewed and evaluated for their scientific merit and their relevance to health and healthcare promotion in the context of Sustainable Development Goals.
Due dates and notification:
Abstract submissions will be accepted until 28th February, 2019.
After your abstract is received, you will receive an e-mail notification of receipt. Further notification of the decision to accept or decline your abstract will be sent to you no later than 28th February, 2019.
